Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy Xbox One version available to pre-order with UK retailer

Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy Xbox One version available to pre-order with UK retailer

The three original Crash Bandicoot games have recently been remastered and were released on the Sony PS4 last week in the form of “Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy”. Since the game was announced there have been questions over whether the game would make its way onto Xbox One, or if it would be a PS4 exclusive with the original games being PS1 exclusives and fondly loved PS1 games at that. However, Sony no longer holds the IP for the games so there have been rumours abound as to whether Activision would release the game for the Xbox One or not. Especially with a lot of the promotional artwork for the game not stating “PS4 exclusive” like a majority of exclusive games do.

Your Tabletop Games Are In Your Pocket

There seems to be a growing perception that in an increasingly digital world, traditional methods of entertainment are falling by the wayside. In other words, we’re too absorbed in our computers and smartphones to bother with good old fashioned fun. Sometimes complaints about this shift are as simple as someone muttering that kids never play outside anymore, and sometimes they come in the form of a more thorough analysis of the state of human amusement. For instance, a piece at Medium titled “Why Can’t We Read Anymore?” recently took a pretty dire look at what’s happened to human concentration.

Microsoft confirm Xbox One first party games pricing

xbox-one-games-priced-uk

With the announcement of the next generation of consoles from Sony and Microsoft in the form of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One respectively, there has also been quite a bit of discussion surrounding the pricing of games on the next consoles. Currently new releases for the PS3 and Xbox 360 generally cost around £40 from most retailers. With the Xbox One however, games will cost a bit more.

Microsoft have priced the games on their website at £49.99 and include titles such as Dead Rising 3, Forza Motorsport 5, Ryse and Kinect Sport Rivals. However in the US, the pricepoint between 360 games and Xbox One games remains the same at $59.99 which seems a tad unfair to those not living Stateside as us UKers were already paying more than our US counterparts anyway with this generation of games.

The Future of FPS games

It is incredible to think how far first-person shooter gaming has evolved over the years. It all started with Battlezone in 1980, but the big game changer was Doom released in 1993. To play it now you would question the dodgy controls and questionable graphics but back then it really put FPS on the map.

We’ve gone a long way since then with Duke Nukem, Half-Life, Quake, Halo and Call of Duty bringing use into the 21st century with amazing weaponry. But, with the number out there at the minute, how can the genre evolve positively? The key is creativity. Maybe you prefer strategy pc games where outcomes change and it isn’t a generic storyline that you can predict.
