To kick start Sonic’s 20th anniversary, Sega have released a trailer for a new Sonic game. Sonic the hedgehog 4 Episode 2 should be released this year, the sequel to Sonic 4 Episode 1 which was released in October last year. However this trailer doesn’t look like Episode 2 of Sonic 4 but, rather a new game entirely. Speculation is that the game may see retro sonic go head to head with next gen sonic, or both of them working together. What are your thoughts? Check out the trailer below.
Heavy Rain won 3 awards last night. There were other winners but I am going to focus on this one as I have played it twice and currently started a third. Heavy Rain was written and directed by Quantic Dream’s chief executive, David De Gruttola.
Heavy Rain is an interactive game and you control the outcome. There are four main playable characters. This game is definitely a bite from film noir. Ethan Mars is one of the characters who is trying to find his son from a serial killer who uses extended rain storms to kill his victims.
The other three characters are:
I’m sure most of you will have heard of Foxy. For those who are regular players on the site, they recently held a competition for members to win a ride in a Foxy-licious Limo. For those who missed out though, whether you entered and didn’t win, didn’t enter in time or didn’t wager the minimum amount there’s still a chance to win a ride in the limo.
All you have to do is spot the Foxy limo in your area and submit the picture to Foxy. Also the driver may have cards with bonus codes on if you’re able to catch the limo while it’s parked up. The limos are currently touring in Scotland until March 25th and the South West will have limos from 23rd to 29th of March and the North East 28th March to 8th April. While other parts of the country will be toured in April and May.
Crysis 2 was scheduled for release on the 22nd of March, but that doesn’t mean anything to people who want a game and will release a game into the gaming world for us heathens to play ahead of time.
So a late developement build of Crysis 2 has gone up on certain sites, it includes the full game, including multiplayer. It also includes the DRM Solidshield master key files, which only handles the online activation. No one is sure where the leak came from, but it’s especially damaging because the game is near to being declared gold and shipping to retailers.
Well played Sony, you managed to put a root kit into your new firmeware update, that being if we actually updated our console. I myself will be staying on 3.41. It’s been reported that CFW disables your blu-ray play back.
Back to the rootkit though their own “rootkit” so to speak, which allows them, being Sony to execute remote code upon login. What code exactly? Well that can range from confirming system files, detecting custom firmware to searching for any installed homebrew that you may have put on. It’s rumoured that they will be able to “kill” your console but that has yet to be seen.
Much like the Blood Armor that brought a Mass Effect vibe into the original Dragon Age, Visceral Games and BioWare are working together to bring Dead Space‘s Isaac Clarke into the world of Dragon Age. Basically, those of you that pick up Dead Space 2 will get the exclusive “Ser Isaac of Clarke” armor set for use in Dragon Age II. The content, which we’ve been informed will expire come March 31, 2012 for whatever reason, of course is modeled after Isaac Clarke’s signature rig.
You can check out a trailer for the content right here.
As promised, Eric Ruth’s highly-anticipated Bungie-inspired demake, Pixel Force Halo, has now arrived! Originally announced back in December, Eric’s Contra-esque platformer is available on PC for free download now.
He has also created Left for Dead and DJ Hero in 8bit, which I am sure if you are like me and know how to use google you can find them all. Eric also has something coming out in the Spring but he wouldn’t say what it was but here’s a quote that is making me wonder what else he could mastermind in 8bit?
Proving that the fantasy is indeed NEVER going to be final, Square Enix has revealed Final Fantasy XIII-2, the latest entry in the long-running RPG franchise that is currently in development for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and scheduled to launch “next winter”.
The game, which is being described as a true sequel that will attempt to exceed its predecessor in every aspect, will feature the return of leading lady Lighting and deliver a brand-new story which stems from the previous title as well as a battle system which has “evolved further since XIII”.
I don’t know about y’all but this is the most exciting video game news I have heard in a year. You can tell I like the Grateful Dead already? Well I do, they play music like I play video games, with reckless abandonment and somehow it turns out in a positive light.
The surviving band members gave the project their blessing, but the agreement was brokered by Rhino Entertainment, the Warner Music Group subsidiary that has managed all of the band’s intellectual property since 2006.
“We can’t wait for everyone check out the fun new toys we are building,” said David Lemieux, the band’s longtime archivist, in a statement.
Razer have released a prototype of their new gaming tool, the Razer Switchblade at this years CES.
The idea here is to take PC gaming, well portable PC gaming to a whole new level. The idea is essential a laptop, but a laptop focused on gaming. With a 7inch screen, digital keyboard and unquie user interface this is looking a like a genuinely interesting way to game on the go.
The selling point for this device is what they are calling its ‘tactile adaptive keyboard’ essentially a standard keyborad but with clear keys and digital characters. This allows the the keyboard to change and ‘adapt’ on the fly when you change from one game to another. Changing the types, positions and arrangement of keys, even allowing custom key setups for each game.
