New PS3 jailbreak beats latest firmware update with downgrade
Sony thought they had put the kabash on people who jailbroke their PS3′s by putting out firmware update 3.50, sorry Sony it didn’t work.
The team, which started all of the trouble with the release of the original Playstation 3 hack in August of this year, has announced a new workaround for Playstation 3s with firmware versions higher than 3.41. The latest exploit isn’t a true jailbreak, it basically lets you downgrade to earlier versions and then jailbreak.
Update: UK to receive price reduction on PSPgo

Following on from our previous post regarding the announcement from Sony letting us know that their latest handheld gaming device, the PSPgo was to be reduced in price in both Japan and the US, we can now update you with the latest news that the price reduction will also occur in the UK.
Prices for the PSPgo will drop from £225 to £160 in the UK, a saving of £65. Of course, that is the recommended price for retailers, there are always bundle deals on offer to sweeten the price a little more.

PSPgo Prices Cut in Japan and US

Good news if you were considering buying a PSPgo – Sony have announced that the prices will be dropped in both the US and Japan in time for Christmas.
Over in America buyers can expect to pay $199 for the PSPgo now, rather than the $249 it was priced at previously. In Japan the handheld is reduced to 16,800 yen from 26,800 yen. Now even I could be tempted by those prices, even if the PSPgo has hardly set the gaming world on fire since it’s release.
One question springs to my mind though – where’s my UK price drop Sony?
Sonic 4 released on Xbox 360 and PS3

After 16 years, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 has been released. The game is being released in parts, so this is Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode 1. The game will cost 1200 points from Xbox Live Arcade. Alternatively, on the PS3 the game will cost £9.99 to download from the PlayStation Network.
On the Xbox 360 there is also a trial game which, even if you’re a huge Sonic fan, like myself, you may want to download first as 1200 points is a bit steep. The game download size is 191MBs.

The soundtrack to Fable 3 is to be released at the same time as the game on October 26th. It is also available to pre-order from Amazon, with other online retailers due to sell the soundtrack too, including creator Sumthing Digital and iTunes. Amazon are charging $16 for the album.
Music for the upcoming RPG was composed by head of music at Lionhead Studios and BAFTA nominated Russell Shaw and performed by the Slovak National Symphony Orchestra.
PSP 2 Rumored for Release before Christmas…..2011

Although Sony themselves are yet to tell us whether a PSP 2 is a reality or not, we know that there are game developers out there that are reportedly creating games specifically for the ‘PSP 2′. Now, there are rumors claiming that developers have been told that the PSP 2 will be arriving before the holiday season of 2011, according to a source of VG247.
Delay on Gears of War 3 Release

Epic Games and Microsoft have announced that Gears of War 3 will no longer be released next April, with the company deciding to bring the game out in the autumn of 2011 instead.
The Xbox 360 exclusive was due for release on the 8th of April 2011 but, the latest release date of ‘fall 2011′ is a lot less defined and leaves us to wonder when we will actually see Gears of War 3. Epic Games are keen to let gamers know that the delay is purely for business reasons, not due to development issues, although they are also keen to reiterate that the game will be more ‘polished’ because of the delay.
Wii Sales Drop but, no Christmas Price Deals

Bad news for Nintendo as their Wii console and the DS handheld series seem to have lost their way in the UK gaming market. Both retailers Game and Gamestation are reporting that sales of the Wii and DS are down 40% and in fact, it is reported that Game have dipped into the red in their overall sales and are partly blaming the decline in hardware sales of the Nintendo Wii for their misfortune.
As the news of the potential lack of interest in the Nintendo Wii filters through, news that Nintendo have no intentions of reducing prices on their hardware over the upcoming Christmas period is also appearing. Presumably the company expects the Christmas sales figures, which have historically been highly successful for Nintendo, to be high enough to not need any encouragement from price drops or incentives to customers.
