EA have stepped up and at last confirmed the official release dates for the PS3 version of previously Xbox 360 exclusive title Mass Effect 2. The company have confirmed that the game will be available on January 18 2011 in North America and on January 21 2011 in Europe.
The original Mass Effect (Mass Effect 1 if you like) will remain as an Xbox 360 exclusive title so to help PS3 gamers get a grasp on the storyline before playing ME2, Bioware and EA are including an ‘interactive comic’ with the Blu-ray version of the game where players can make choices that will affect their gameplay experience once playing Mass Effect 2, just as the choices Xbox 360 gamers made in Mass Effect affected their character and experience in Mass Effect 2. Along with the ‘e-comic’, ME2 for the PS3 will also include a whole host of the Xbox DLC including Lair of the Shadow Broker, Project Overlord, Kasumi: Stolen Memory and the Blood Dragon Armor. In addition, The Zaeed and Firewalker expansions will also be available to download on the PS3 via the Cerberus Network.
