Sega have announced that Sonic Generations will have a special edition and collectors edition of the game. The standard version of the game will retail for £32.99 while the special addition is available for £37.99 on Xbox 360 and £39.99 on PS3.
With the special edition, you get an exclusive Sonic theme as well as Casino Night Pinball Stage. The 360 version will also include a Super Sonic costume for your avatar.
The Collectors Edition however, features a collectible figurine which features both Classic and Modern Sonic, as well as a commemorative Gold Ring which is individually numbered.
An artbook is also included, called “20 Years of Sonic Art” this will feature images from the past 20 years, as well as never before seen sketches. You of course get the same downloadable content as the special edition, as well as lenticular packaging. The Collectors Edition will also have a “20th Anniversary Sonic Soundtrack, which will feature a selection of tracks handpicked by the Sonic Team, as well as a “History of Sonic: Birth of an Icon” documentary and interviews. The collectors edition is only available in Europe and Australia and will retail for £99.99. Amazon however, have both the PS3 version
Sega have also announced the release date for the game. The US will get it first on November 1st, followed by Australia who will get it on the third and then Europe, where it will be released November 4th. The 3DS version however is still listed as late 2011 but, it’s likely that it will be released the same day as it’s console counterpart.

Oh yes :p lol. I’ve never bought a collectors edition, or special/limited edition – unless it was preowned any way and then it just had a fancy case. I’m making an exception for this game :). I was excited about the special edition but, the collectors edition….wow! Me likey likey likely :). Very excited!
